Champagne Tarlant | Brut Zéro Rosé
-Local Athens Pick-up Only-
Champagne Tarlant, a family-owned estate since 1687, is located in Oeuilly, within the Vallée de la Marne. The 'Rosé Zéro' Brut Nature is a distinctive cuvée that exemplifies the house's commitment to traditional methods and minimal intervention.
Grape Variety & Terroir: The 'Rosé Zéro' is composed of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the estate's biodynamic vineyards, while the Pinot Noir is sourced from a single plot in the Montagne de Reims. The terroir is characterized by chalky soils, which impart a distinctive minerality to the wine.
Vinification & Aging: The base wines are from the 2013 vintage, aged in oak barrels. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged on its lees for nearly five years before disgorgement. As indicated by the name 'Zéro,' no dosage is added, resulting in a Brut Nature style.
Flavor Profile: The 'Rosé Zéro' presents a glistening coral pink color. The nose is elegant, with hints of red citrus fruits, followed by aromas of red berries and a touch of pepper. On the palate, it is both luminous and meaty, offering impressive fruity exoticism and natural vinosity.
Pairings: This Champagne pairs well with a variety of dishes, including pork, shellfish, rich fish like salmon and tuna, and mild cheeses. Its aromatic profile and balanced acidity make it versatile for different culinary experiences.
