Smithey | Carbon Steel Farmhouse Skillet
A skillet can be a useful piece of blacksmithing as well as a place to cook dinner. Smithey's 12-inch Farmhouse Skillet draws on American ironwork from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with a long handle inspired by fire tools and a three-hole helper handle. Each pan is hand-forged by an artisan in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, so the hammer marks and finish belong to that particular piece.
Carbon steel gives you cooking performance similar to cast iron at a lighter weight. We like this size for searing a steak or giving a pan of vegetables room to brown. Care for the seasoning as you would cast iron, and put it to work on your next supper.
