"All About Sourdough!" with Rob Sutherland, Saturday, March 30, 3:00pm-6:00pm
Home baker and longtime Athens potter, Rob Sutherland, will teach you how to use time and temperature with natural fermentation to produce delicious and nutritious sourdough loaves in your own kitchen with equipment you probably already have.
The class will cover starter maintenance, using an overnight wet fermentation for whole grain flours, mixing and kneading dough, shaping loaves, and baking techniques applicable to a home oven. Rob's academic background in molecular biology and his love of working with his hands will definitely color the course content, and we will enjoy sampling breads fresh from the oven by the end of the class. We'll also serve you a nice glass of red wine to sip on while learning. This is the staff of life!
