2024 Bodega Chacra Pino Noir 'Barda'
This is the flagship Pinot Noir of easily the most well-respected and important producer in the Patagonia region of Argentina. This is the southernmost growing region in Argentina and is thusly super frigid, yielding lower alcohol, tart, light, but not un-serious Pinot Noir. I think this Pinot being lighter and leaning fresher and sort of tea-like will help it pair super well with a dish that has a bit of spice, but this wine should still have enough intensity and structure to stand up to a 'louder' dish like Peruvian Lomo Saltado. The family that makes these wines is the same Italian family that started Sassicaia in Tuscany - so the most famous Tuscan family making delicious Pinot Noir in Patagonia. Very interesting!
