This is Syrah from Sonoma, Yorkville Highlands and Mendocino, so 3 of the northernmost California winegrowing regions, perfect cool-climate conditions for growing Syrah - Scott and Jenny Schulz, the husband and wife winemaking team that founded Jolie-Laide (roughly translating to 'ugly-cute') are known for making drinkable California wines that are much fresher and lighter in style than their neighbors - All of their wines are foot-trodden during fermentation and they don't use any new oak. So these are basically time-capsule California wines. Floral, Herbal + Spicy.
