At Athens Cooks, we love the idea of sipping on a great cup of coffee while you shop or sitting with a friend and talking about your finds while snacking on a local pastry. In our cafe, we're dedicated to offering customers a high-quality coffee experience with top-notch machinery and the best local brews. 1000 Faces Coffee is a coffee roaster and merchant of change, with a mission to connect coffee consumers and producers more directly through quality, education, service, and friendly interactions. They believe that by increasing consumer demand for high-quality coffee, they can spur more quality coffee production. 1000 Faces travels to coffee-producing countries to establish relationships with producers and ensure the integrity of their coffee. They believe in the importance of respecting geographic origin, building direct relationships, and promoting ecological awareness in the coffee industry.

Publica Coffee is a coffee roaster with a passion for bringing people together. They believe that coffee has the power to unite people from all backgrounds and hope that their delicious, Italian-based coffee flavors will inspire people to build community and support each other.

 

Independent Bakery Co.
In addition to our amazing coffee options, we also offer a selection of fresh pastries from two local bakeries. The Independent Bakery in the Five Points of Athens is committed to providing our community with healthful, hearth-baked loaves of bread and delicious pastries, just as community bakeries have done for hundreds of years. We're happy to be joining the group of Athens dining-establishments that carry their delectable goods!

Our other pastry option comes from Kiki's Bakeshop in downtown Watkinsville, Georgia. Kiki's Bakeshop is inspired by the great food traditions and bakeries of Europe, and offers a wide assortment of tasty, home-baked goods, all crafted by hand in their kitchen.


We invite you to come and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry at our cafe, where you can watch the world go by and enjoy the friendly, community atmosphere.

Cooking is about friends, family and community. Our communal table is a cozy and inviting space for you to relax, enjoy a drink, and grab a bite to eat with your neighbors while shopping for all your kitchen needs. Or sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather on our patio.

We always think local, sustainable and organic when choosing our products. That same philosophy goes double for our breakfast and lunch offerings. Some of our local providers are Rockhouse Farms for our cheeses and meats, Independent Bakery for our breads, Lucky Bee Farms for honey, Home.Made Cheese Straws, Condor Chocolates, 1000 Faces Coffee, New Creation Soda, Figment Kombucha and local farms for in-season produce. We don't use seed oils and don't use ingredients with additives or preservatives. Basically, we won't serve you what we won't feed our own families!

Featuring 1000 Faces coffee, Rockhouse Dairy and in-house made simple syrups, our baristas make some of the best espresso and coffee in town. Also choose from small batch teas, cold brew coffee and fresh squeezed OJ and lemonade.

If you are hungry, try our home made daily quiche, scones or cookies, a selection of Independent pastries, plus our made-to-order breakfast burrito.

We have carefully curated selection of beer from some of the best local breweries in the area. We are proud to offer brews from Athentic, Normaltown, Southern, Akademia, Terrapin and Creature Comforts, plus great offerings from outside of Athens. Each has its own unique flavor profile and character. Whether you prefer a hoppy IPA, a crisp lager, or a rich stout, we'll have rotating taps and bottles to feature something for every taste.

In addition to our beer selection, we are also excited to offer a selection of wine from small boutique vineyards that practice sustainable agriculture and/or biologique practices. These vineyards take pride in producing high-quality wines that are not only delicious, but also environmentally and socially responsible.
