Oddero Barolo is a classic and powerful expression of Italy’s famed Barolo region, located in the heart of Piedmont. Oddero, one of the oldest and most respected producers in Barolo, has been crafting exceptional wines since 1878. Known for producing traditionally styled Barolos, Oddero is committed to organic viticulture and a hands-off winemaking approach that allows the Nebbiolo grape to fully express the unique characteristics of its terroir.

Winemaker & Philosophy: Run by the Oddero family for over a century, the winery focuses on sustainability, with all vineyards farmed organically. The winemaking philosophy is rooted in tradition, with long macerations, natural fermentations, and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. This results in Barolos with depth, structure, and the ability to age gracefully for decades.

Grape Variety & Terroir: Made from 100% Nebbiolo, Oddero’s Barolo is sourced from some of the finest vineyards in Barolo, including key crus such as Brunate and Rocche di Castiglione. The vines grow on limestone and clay soils, which impart minerality and finesse to the wine. The cool Piedmontese climate and foggy mornings in the Langhe region help develop Nebbiolo’s signature balance of power and elegance.

Flavor Profile: Oddero Barolo presents an intense bouquet of red cherry, rose petals, and dried herbs, with hints of tobacco, leather, and truffle emerging as the wine ages. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins and flavors of sour cherry, plum, licorice, and a touch of earthy spice. The finish is long, with a pleasing balance of acidity and tannins, making this Barolo a wine with excellent aging potential.

Pairings: This robust Barolo pairs wonderfully with rich, hearty dishes such as braised meats, osso buco, or game, as well as truffle-infused dishes. It also complements hard cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano and Pecorino. Its firm structure and complexity make it a perfect choice for celebratory meals or special occasions.
