A four-generation family estate in the Layon Valley, Domaine Ogereau is now steered by Emmanuel Ogereau, who brought a sharp focus on single-terroir Chenins. His great contribution was isolating a rare pocket of spilite — an ancient volcanic basalt — on a windswept hillside above a nature reserve. Certified organic and biodynamic, the domaine ferments with ambient yeasts and ages on lees in barrel. Vent de Spilite, first bottled in 2014, is now one of Anjou's most compelling whites.
