2022 Istine Chianti Classico

Angela Fronti is the winemaker of Istine and she has rose out of obscurity really quickly by making delicious higher elevation Chianti's that are more pretty and pure than most other more rustic/tannic style Chianti. Angela is from a long line of peasant farmers in Tuscany, where Chianti is located, so the fact that she found away to make Chianti (a historically patrimonial/nepotism dominated winemaking region) at all is impressive. And she's good at it! 

Chianti and Alfredo are a classic Italian pairing - because Chianti is made (mostly) from the Sangiovese grape, an Italian red grape varietal this is naturally very high in acid.  That high acidity helps this wine 'cut-through' the richness of the Alfredo sauce.
